
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority on March 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM prevailing time at 390 New Hampshire Avenue, Lakewood, New Jersey, at which time and place, bids will be opened and read in public.
The Project consists of the Redondo Lane Sanitary Sewer Improvements including the removal and replacement of approximately 1,300 linear feet of existing sewer piping, removal of existing manholes, 6 units new sanitary manholes, bypass pumping, dewatering excavation, importing embankment material, connecting to existing sanitary sewer piping, drop connection, reconnecting existing lateral sewer services, concrete cradle, concrete sidewalk, concrete curbing, bituminous pavement restoration, topsoiling, fertilizing and seeding, soil erosion and sediment control, and other miscellaneous appurtenant work.
Specifications and other bid information may be obtained at the office of the Consulting Engineer, Ernst, Ernst and Lissenden, 52 Hyers Street, Toms River, New Jersey during regular business hours Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Telephone: 732-349-2215, Fax: 732-349-4127. A non-refundable fee of $100.00, in the form of a check payable to Ernst, Ernst and Lissenden, will be required for each set of contract documents. If the Contract is awarded, no refunds will be given. If for any reason, the Contract is not awarded, a refund will be made to Bidders pursuant to N.J.S.A.40A:11-24(b) when the Plans and Specifications are returned in reasonable condition within 90 days of notice that the contract has not been awarded.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27.
Every corporation and/or partnership submitting a bid and accompanying said bid shall submit a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all stockholders in the corporation, or partners in the partnership, who own ten percent (10%) or more of its stock, of any class, or of all individual partners in the partnership who own a ten percent (10%) or greater interest therein, as the case may be. If one or more such stockholder, or partner, is itself a corporation, or partnership, the stockholders holding ten percent (10%) or more of that corporation's stock, or the individual partners owning ten percent (10%) or greater interest in that partnership, as the case may be, shall also be listed. This disclosure shall be continued until the names and addresses of every non-corporate stockholder, and individual partner, exceeding the ten percent (10%) ownership criteria established by this Notice, shall have been listed.
Each bid must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit and by a guarantee in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total sum bid, provided such guarantee shall be for not less than five hundred ($500.00) dollars or more than twenty thousand ($20,000.00) dollars. The guarantee may be in one of the following three forms: cashier's check, certified check or Proposal Bond. The guarantee shall be payable to Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority. In the event that a cashier's check or certified check is used, evidence of ability to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in accordance with Subsection 103.05 must also accompany each bid; the usual form of Proposal Bond letter from a recognized Bonding Company will be acceptable.
This Contract will be subject to the provisions of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.) establishing the prevailing wage for workers engaged in public works.
All Proposals shall be made upon forms and sealed in bid envelopes to be furnished by the Consulting Engineer and shall bear the name of the Bidder and the name of the job which the bid covers and must be accompanied by an Equipment Statement.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.

Notice of Public Hearing for Adoption of Sewer Rates and Fees for 2012 and 2013
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority, pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 22, will hold a public meeting on January 3, 2012 to adopt a proposed sewer rate and fee schedule as follows:
1. Beginning February 1, 2012 residential, commercial, and industrial sewer rates will be increased by 5%.
2. Beginning November 1, 2012 residential, commercial, and industrial sewer rates will be increased by an additional 1.5%.
3. Beginning November 1, 2013 residential, commercial and industrial sewer rates will be increased by an additional 1.5%.
Public comment is invited. A full schedule of sewer rates are on file and available for public inspection in the office of the Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority at 390 New Hampshire Avenue, Lakewood, New Jersey during regular business hours.
