Flushing Begins May 8, 2023

Please be advised that the Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority will be conducting their comprehensive annual flushing of water mains commencing Monday, May 8 2023 and continuing through the End of July, 2023, Weather Permitting.
Customers may experience some discoloration of their water. Should this occur, please run your cold water later in the day until it clears. You may also notice a temporary decrease in water pressure during this period. If you are planning to replace your water filter, please wait until after the Lakewood Township Municipal Utilities Authority has finished their annual flushing.

The flushing will normally take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. In some instances flushing may continue into the evening. Customers may experience some discoloration of their water. Should this occur, please run your cold water later in the day until it clears. You may also notice a temporary decrease in water pressure during this period. If you are planning to replace your water filter, please wait until after the flushing is finished.

This procedure has been found to be extremely effective in reducing the buildup of sediment in the water distribution lines.
